#28daysofblackartists, Instagram Series (2018)

This project was an exploration into Black artists working in primarly two dimensional media over the course of the 28 days in February, granted to Black History Month. The goal was to offer a broad overview of black artists that counterws the narratives I have often seen and been taught about - usually Black American males. The project featured majority Continental African artist living in Africa or the Diaspora and majority women who are often underrepresented in all art worlds. Additionally, I also wanted to show art that while valued in European markets also held an equal importance in their local contexts.

The artists featured, one artist a day, were:

Curtia Wright
